This week’s vehicle is the Bus! I love how buses have changed in style over the years, so I picked an old London bus and a modern bus.

Daft Character #39! I’m still going steadily through my list of agencies to send my comic pitch to. As I have no school groups this week, it being half term, I will hopefully have a lot more time and focus to get it finished.

In the second of this week’s episodes of The Double Barrel Show, Jamie talks about narrative theory, in particular the Hero’s Journey, and I review the PS4 video game The Last Guardian. Enjoy!

This week’s vehicle is the plane! Planes are quite fun but hard to draw so I picked up some tips from The Etherington Brothers’ blog: http://theetheringtonbrothers.blogspot.co.uk/2017/02/how-to-think-when-you-draw-vintage.html

On the first of this week’s episodes of The Double Barrel Show, Jamie and I talk about who we would like to become the next Doctor in Doctor Who (and discuss whether he should be played by a woman). I also review the Netflix series Frequency – spoiler – it’s good, go watch it!!

My first rejection…

Sorry for the lack of posting this week, I’ve been ill with a horrible cold, which means as well as not wanting to create things to post, I’ve also not been able to record an episode of The Double Barrel Show with Jamie. However today I’m feeling somewhat better, better enough to send submissions of my comic pitch to publishers.

I sent one off earlier this morning, and fifteen minutes later they replied to me, rejecting my pitch. Now you might say that’s sad, but actually it was very lovely for two reasons. Firstly, it was very nice of them to actually reply to me at all, and so soon too, seeing as most publishers don’t bother replying unless they want to take your pitch further. Secondly, the man said that even though they couldn’t publish it, it was ‘good work’. Now this alone is a massive lift up, because this is the first person in the comic world to look at my work and give some comment on it. He could have said nothing, but he said it was ‘good’.

That gives me the confidence to carry on with this submission process, because if it is ‘good’, then somewhere out there there must be a home for my graphic novel, it’s just a matter of time before I find it…

A new segment – Vehicles! I was playing a game last night which had me travelling in a boat for a while, so I thought I would do boats as my first vehicle. 🙂

Daft Character #37! For the last year or so I’ve been working on a pitch for a long-form comic, and it’s finally finished! Today, I’m going to start the process of pitching to publishers and agencies. 🙂
