The comic I’ve been working on for many years, and originally came up with the idea for it when I was 11 or 12, seventeen or eighteen years ago is finally ready to show to the world. The first episode is now available on savethesongbirdscomic.com and on the Webtoon comics app. Please go and give it a read, and I hope you like it! New episodes each Monday!
“Tim Redding is a blackbird, and all he and his brother ever wanted since childhood was to become agents of the Anti-Predation Agency, an organisation that fights to stop predator terrorism in Great Britain. But when tragedy strikes at the wings of Long Sleeves Darren, leader of The Hawk Horrors, he lets fear and anger consume him, until one day he must overcome his past to lead a new group in securing the future of the songbirds of his country, and find what he needs himself.”
This Monday the 28th of October, my comic strip ‘The Weird World of Wilfred Weed’ will start serialising on the online digital comic acesweekly.co.uk for seven Monday as part of Volume 42. Please head over there on Monday to purchase Volume 42 and read the first episode!
Happy birthday Tintin! 90 years ago today, Tintin was introduced to the world in a Belgian children’s newspaper and he has been inspiring minds ever since through the exciting adventures and Herge’s incredible art style. I owe much of my love of comics and stories to Herge and his boy reporter from when I first read his adventures when I was a child till now as an adult. Thank you Herge and Tintin!
INKTOBER DAY 31! For today’s piece of Save The Songbirds concept art and my final Inktober drawing, I drew the operations room at Crystal House, the building of the Anti-Predation Agency. Well, there we go! Thirty-one drawings over thirty-one days. Apart from three occasions (I think), I did each drawing on each numbered day. Some days I found it easy to draw something, but most of the days I had to push myself. I’m glad I was able to make it through all the days, partly because it’s good to stick at a creative endeavour, partly because I needed to be visually developing my comic anyway and this meant I definitely would do it! Thanks for the likes and the comments, more posts on the way soon!
INKTOBER DAY 29! For today’s piece of Save The Songbirds concept art I have drawn the pub/cafe from a different angle. I always had the idea of having a raised section somewhere in the place, perhaps for a pool table?
INKTOBER DAY 25! Today’s piece of Save The Songbirds concept art is of the tube train going over the top of buildings in London. I don’t think it was as successful as the previous two concept pieces including the tube, but that’s OK! It’s all part of making art and getting better! (I tell this to the children I teach, and have to remind myself constantly!)
