This week’s Tribute is Space Raoul (and Quibble) created by Jamie Smart. Space Raoul first appeared in the children’s segment of the Sunday Times, before appearing in The Dandy, where I first encountered him. In 2008 Jamie was putting a book together of all the strips and wanted fan art to go in it. I emailed him some and he put it in the book! I was proud to have my first published art work. Jamie went on to draw Desperate Dan in The Dandy, Rodger the Dodger in The Beano and currently draws the hilarious Bunny Vs. Money in The Phoenix (a weekly story comic). He’s also been very helpful when I’ve emailed him on questions about making comics, so thanks Jamie!
